Group CBS is fortifying its Finance team to ensure we remain always ready to help customers with timely, accurate information. We’re pleased to announce three new additions to the finance team: CFO, Dan Rigby; Corporate Controller, Thomas Cheaney and Director of Finance, Stephanie Tompkins.  Dan and Stephanie are based out of the Addison office, while Thomas works in Gainesville.

Dan Rigby – CFO

Dan brings over 20 years of corporate finance experience in manufacturing and distribution to his new role as CFO for Group CBS. Prior to coming to Group CBS, Dan was the CFO for US Fence Solutions, a regional fencing distribution and installation company. Dan began his career at GE Capital and also spent time at GE Appliances, GE Lighting and GE Supply, until GE Supply was purchased by Rexel in 2006. He has spent over 13 years in the electrical distribution industry and is very excited to be back.  Dan earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University and an MBA in Finance from New York University. In his free time, Dan enjoys being with his family, traveling, playing the guitar and singing. Fortunately, Dan is no longer performing at upscale restaurants for free meals and tips, like he did when we was a poor college student.

Thomas Cheaney – Corporate Controller

Thomas has over 10 years of corporate accounting experience. He was hired as the Controller at Circuit Breaker Sales in Gainesville earlier this year and was recently promoted to be Corporate Controller of Group CBS, supporting all our businesses. Prior to joining Group CBS, Thomas was the Controller at Zodiac Seats US (formerly Weber Aircraft & currently Safran Seats USA), a global manufacturing company that produces commercial aircraft seats. Thomas graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with a BBA in Accounting and an MBA with an Accounting emphasis. He also earned a BBA in Entrepreneurship & Strategic Management from the University of North Texas. On a personal note, Thomas has roots in custom manufacturing as the Cheaney family has had a saddle maker in every generation dating back to at least 1850. Tom studied the art of saddle making under the direction of his father, Bruce, who is a fifth-generation saddle maker. Bruce also makes bits, spurs, and many other things out of leather, silver and steel. Tom credits this experience for giving him a sincere appreciation for attention to detail and quality of work in every endeavor.

Stephanie Tompkins – Director of Finance

Stephanie brings ten years of corporate finance experience in manufacturing, retail, and ecommerce, including five years with private equity companies, to her position at Group CBS. Most recently, she was the Director of Finance at American Trailer World (ATW), supporting over 70 Big Tex Trailer World dealerships. Prior to her role at ATW, Stephanie was Director of Finance at Apple Leisure Group (ALG). She was responsible for all ecommerce travel package brands including Southwest Vacations, United Vacations and Cheapcaribbean.com. In her new role, Stephanie will be supporting all Group CBS companies with financial analysis, financial planning and reporting, as well as leading GCBS’ Hyperion implementation. Stephanie graduated from UTA (University of Texas at Austin) with a BBA in Finance and an MBA in Business.

Please welcome Dan, Thomas and Stephanie to the team!
