The remote racking system lets technicians operate Toshiba VY-30M25A circuit breakers (rotary racking only) from up to 300 feet away, putting them safely outside the arc flash boundary.
At 18.5 pounds, the RRS-3 VY Toshiba is portable enough to easily move between units, and it requires no modifications to existing equipment. Its fast installation, automated operation, and easy removal help reduce operator fatigue and increase efficiency when crews are working on multiple breakers during large commissioning or scheduled maintenance jobs. Because the operator never makes manual contact with the gear during racking, the system also reduces or eliminates the need for arc flash hazard suits.
